Planting Seeds of Success
The Gooding Community Garden is a nonprofit organization where students and volunteers work to support local food needs and community education on urban and agricultural conservation practices. This is greatly beneficial to the community as members can learn from hands-on involvement while growing a variety of garden vegetables. Volunteers manage several plots featuring pollinator habitats, composting, cover crops, and more.
Last year, they produced over 4,000 pounds of fresh produce to donate to local food banks, senior citizens, schools and others in need. They also recently completed their greenhouse and prepared it for the 2023 season.
Valley Wide’s Contribution
Recently, Valley Wide made a donation to the Gooding Community Garden to support their efforts to create and maintain separate plots for people to grow their plants. The garden aims to foster learning about gardening, caring for the environment, and providing a space for recreation. Their goal to demonstrate and promote the adoption of urban and agricultural conservation practices is becoming more and more prevalent as their sprawling garden progresses.
Organizations such as this one are vital in the lives of young people to provide them with valuable learning opportunities that they will carry with them all throughout life.
We are excited to continue supporting the Gooding Community Garden as they explore new ideas and educate their community! Learn more about their recent projects at the link below!
