Pink on the Dirt Luncheon
About Pink on the Dirt
The Snake River Stampede Pink on the Dirt Luncheon is an annual event funding mammograms for local women who are uninsured or underinsured. Mammograms are one of the most common tools in breast cancer detection, yet Idaho ranks 49th in the nation for breast cancer screening. This program is determined to change that. Since 2006, it has raised over a million dollars, and that number gets higher every year.
Hundreds of women wearing pink gathered to support Stampede for the Cure at the Ford Idaho Center on July 19th, eager to participate in the auction and learn about the organization. Also in attendance was a group of Valley Wide employees who actively participated in the excitement of the bidding and raffles.
This year, some of the items for auction included a 7-night stay in Italy, a week-long trip to a resort of choice, and even a paddle drop for two tickets to the sold-out Zach Bryan concert on August 17th.
Along with the exciting live auction and raffles, the afternoon also featured a delicious tri-tip lunch. However, what truly stood out were the powerful stories shared by women whose lives had been directly touched and saved by this very program.
