2022 Eric Beck Memorial Scholarship

An investment in the cooperative’s future

In 2018 our annual scholarship giving was renamed the Eric Beck Memorial Scholarship in honor of Eric Beck (1955-2017). Eric was a board member of one of Valley Wide’s predecessors, Menan Cooperative and later was instrumental in the formation of Valley Wide Cooperative. As a farmer and rancher in Menan, Idaho, he was a life-long advocate of the cooperative system. He put a high value on learning and teaching others the skills he excelled in during his life.

This year Valley Wide Cooperative’s Board of Directors selected students from across our territory to receive fifteen $2,000 scholarships. This year, we emphasized a student’s participation in agriculture and desire to study agriculture in college. Valley Wide Cooperative’s investment in these students helps support the future of the agricultural industry.
