Celebrate the Grand Opening of our Wendell Store
We kicked off the grand opening of our Wendell store on May 4th, eager to welcome customers. The day was filled with exciting activities, including giveaways, food and drink samples, games, and even a petting zoo! It was a lively celebration, bringing together people of all ages to enjoy the festivities and the start of a new chapter for our store.

It has been a journey filled with dedication and perseverance, spanning over a year and half of hard work and overcoming various challenges along the way. Despite the obstacles, we are immensely proud to unveil our biggest store yet, complete with a farm store, travel center, truck & fuel islands, as well as a full-service deli and Lucy’s New York Style Pizza.
Remarks from Employees
At the official store walkthrough prior to opening day, Valley Wide Cooperative hosted a luncheon for community officials, including the Mayor and Wendell City Council. CEO of Valley Wide Cooperative, Dave Holtom, welcomed attendees and introduced Store Manager Steve Sears, a lifelong member of the Wendell community.
During his remarks, Mr. Holtom said, “Wendell customers are very important to Valley Wide. They have faithfully supported the Cooperative in this community for decades. It’s our responsibility as co-op leaders to show our dedication to the market through the replacement and combining of two very old facilities into one great, new facility that will serve this area for many years to come.”
Executive Vice President of Retail at Valley Wide Cooperative, Gaven Gregory, shared his appreciation during the luncheon. Mr. Gregory said, “A huge thank you goes to the store employees. The team went above and beyond to prepare the store for opening day.” He went on to say, “We feel at home in Wendell, and it’s great to get positive feedback from the community.”
