Last month Valley Wide Cooperative sponsored the Pink on the Dirt luncheon at the Stampede for the Cure. This even is hosted annually during the week of the Snake River Stampede Rodeo. Stampede for the Cure helps women in the Treasure Valley pay for breast cancer detection, like mammograms. Since 2006 the program has raised over $750,000. Currently, Idaho ranks 50th in the nation in breast cancer screenings.
Pink on the Dirt was hosted at the rodeo arena, the Idaho Ford Center. Valley Wide Cooperative was the give-away bag sponsor, and we also had a group of employees from sites around the Treasure Valley attend the event.
The event’s mood was festive and western. Yet, the fundraising was serious. A live and silent auction was held during the luncheon, and attendees raised thousands of dollars for the cause. The luncheon featured rodeo queens, doctors, and nurses, but most importantly breast cancer survivors.
Valley Wide is pleased to support events like these. This support was in honor of the wife of our recent CFO, Lovinda Faulk, who passed away from breast cancer earlier this year.
