Keeping Up with the Co-op

Our Valley Wide construction crews have stayed busy recently, diligently working on two major projects. The first is the country store in Wendell, ID, where we have been working on the new farm store, replacing the current gas station and convenience store in this location. The second is the Delta, UT tank farm that has been coming along soundly and is quickly nearing a completion date.

Wendell, ID

The construction progress in Wendell is starting to advance quickly, with most of the concrete either poured or ready to be poured. Additionally, Leonard Petroleum has successfully finished the tubing for the fuel systems, and they are going to be backfilling soon with the excavators. The next step for their team will be grading and filling in the parking lot. On the exterior, Ultimate Steel Erectors has been working on installing the fascia and soffit along with other various elements to enhance the aesthetics and functionality of the building. Progress is evident from both the outside and the inside, bringing this project closer to completion every day.

The projected completion date for this project is February 2024.

Current Wendell Update

Delta, UT

Exciting changes are underway at the Delta Ag location as a new, more powerful 800 amp panel will be installed soon to replace the temporary 400 amp panel that was borrowed from our Rexburg site to keep the power on. Additionally, the 100-foot long, 24,000-pound railroad irrigation conduits have been buried, designed to support the weight of a train. The new railroad switch will go up to the fertilizer barn, saving time and making work more efficient. Moreover, the rails and tie-downs for the portion of the railroad have been received and will be installed soon. On top of these new advancements, there is also power and new controls to automate the tank farm. These will provide water, fertilizer and chemicals while streamlining the process for everyone working.

Most of the work is expected to be finished by July 14th, and the whole project should be completed and fully operational by August 30th.
