Fueling Summer Fun: Valley Wide’s Support for Idaho’s Favorite Summer Destinations
When the sun is out and Idaho’s lakes and ballparks come alive, Valley Wide Cooperative is proud to help power the summer experiences that bring communities together. Whether it’s cruising across the waters of Payette Lake or enjoying a Friday night ballgame under the lights, Valley Wide ensures that the fuel and propane needed to make it all happen is delivered with dependability and care.
This season, we’re spotlighting two vibrant community partners: Mile High Marina in McCall and the Boise Hawks baseball team—both fueled by Valley Wide and thriving in Idaho’s summer heat.
Summer on the Water: Mile High Marina
For over two decades, Mile High Marina has served as a premier launching point for adventure on Payette Lake. Founded by Sam Worley and his partners, the marina offers a full suite of summer experiences—from boat and jet ski rentals to a bustling waterfront bar, grill, and retail shop. “We’ve become a popular destination for both locals and out-of-town guests,” says Worley, who’s now in his 21st summer season.
The marina operates a large fleet of watercraft, including pontoon boats, surf boats, jet skis, along with paddleboards and kayaks. To keep that fleet running smoothly, Valley Wide delivers high-performance, non-ethanol premium fuel stored in two large underground fuel tanks across the street from the docks. “In peak season, we’re going through a load of fuel every week,” explains Sam Worley. “It gets busy fast.”
Exciting growth is on the horizon at the marina, with a major breakwater project already under way. Set to include up to 90 additional boat slips and a public boardwalk with benches and lakefront views, the expansion is slated for completion by summer 2026.
In addition to fueling Mile High, Valley Wide also services nearby recreation hubs like Lake Fork Store and Tamarack Resort with essential non-ethanol unleaded fuel, helping power outdoor recreation across the McCall region.
Summer Under the Lights: Boise Hawks Baseball
Down in the Treasure Valley, another Valley Wide partnership keeps the summer spirit going strong. The Boise Hawks baseball team relies on Valley Wide propane to bring the full ballpark experience to life—hot dogs, burgers, and all.
“Propane is vital to what we do,” says Matt Osbon, the Hawks’ General Manager of Sales and Marketing. “You can tell the difference in the quality. We used to use another provider, but switching to Valley Wide just made sense—they’re local, and they care.”
That care translates into seamless propane service for the stadium’s food and beverage operations, ensuring that fans can enjoy fresh-cooked meals while cheering on their team. Valley Wide’s energy support helps the Hawks deliver an affordable, family-friendly, and safe environment for fans throughout the season.
Community, Promotions, and Propane: A Winning Partnership
From Friday night fireworks to unique promotions like the Boise Battle Beavers rebrand and “Bark in the Park,” the Hawks continue to deepen their community connection each season—and Valley Wide is proud to be part of that story.
“Valley Wide provides a service that’s vital to what we do here,” adds Osbon. “Without their support, the guest experience wouldn’t be the same.”
Fueling Idaho's Summer
Whether it’s keeping jet skis fueled on a lake day or grilling burgers at a ballgame, Valley Wide’s energy solutions help power the best parts of summer. From McCall to Boise and beyond, our team is proud to deliver the fuel, propane, and partnership that local recreation depends on.
Because at Valley Wide, we don’t just deliver energy—we deliver experiences.

Exciting updates are underway at the Meridian Farm Store! The newly renovated kitchen space will soon welcome Tacos El Rey, bringing their popular Mexican cuisine to a permanent location inside the store. Crews have completed demolition and cleanup, including refinishing concrete and removing old equipment, to prepare for a full kitchen rebuild featuring all-new appliances, walk-up windows, and improved access for customers and vendors. Out back, a new pergola and wrought iron fencing—installed by Valley Wide’s own Sunnyside fencing team—will enhance the garden area, adding a rustic touch to this evolving space.

An Investment in the Cooperative’s Future
In 2018, our annual scholarship program was renamed the Eric Beck Memorial Scholarship in honor of Eric Beck (1955-2017). Eric was a dedicated board member of Menan Cooperative, one of Valley Wide’s predecessors, and played a pivotal role in the formation of Valley Wide Cooperative. As a farmer and rancher in Menan, Idaho, he was a lifelong advocate of the cooperative system, placing great importance on learning and teaching the skills he excelled in.
Valley Wide Cooperative is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Eric Beck Memorial Scholarship, awarding fifteen $2,000 scholarships to deserving students from the Northwest region.
This year, Valley Wide Cooperative’s Board of Directors selected students who met the following criteria: immediate relation to a co-op member or employee and pursuit of post-secondary education. Applicants were also required to write an essay addressing the most challenging issue their country faces relating to their hometown or way of life, and describing the most influential people in their life and how these individuals impacted them.
Our investment in these students underscores our commitment to supporting the future of the agricultural industry through education and leadership development.
