BUHL, Idaho – Last weekend was the grand re-opening of the Valley Wide Country Store in Buhl, Idaho. The stored kicked off the event with an employee and co-op member night on Friday. The employees and members enjoyed food truck vendors, a wine tasting by local winery, Holesinsky winery and the hit of the night, live music from local folk-rock bank “Copperhead.” Megan Nelson, Store Manager, said, “It was a fun evening! It was a great way to tell our employees thank you for a job well done and enduring the floor demo. We had great door prizes, food, wine tasting and music! Everyone seemed to have fun and enjoy themselves.”
Customer appreciation day
Like the employees, customers were also excited to participate and see the new store changes. On Saturday, the first fifty people through the door received True Value 5-gallon buckets filled with Valley Wide giveaways. Employees gave out an additional 600 True Value, and Valley Wide Cooperative branded buckets as a thank you throughout the day.
Megan estimates that around 1,300 people were in the store on Saturday for the grand re-opening. She says, “This was by far the largest event the Buhl location has hosted! We had a great turn out from the community, and everyone seemed excited to come celebrate with us. Our food truck vendors donated a percentage of their profits to the Branding Iron 4-H club alongside of their own booth they raised around $900. It was great to be able to give back to the community!” Alongside the food trucks, petting zoo, and the popular bucket giveaway, the customers could interact with Valley Wide Country Store vendors, like Coors, Top Notch Jerky, and Purina. Idaho Fish and Game also had a booth to promote the store’s new hunting and fishing licensing service.
Check out the remodeled store
While the giveaways and the party were fun, the event’s highlight was the unveiling of the newly remodeled store. Megan says, “The changes were massive. While the outside looks the same, it’s a whole new store on the inside. We’ve got a new layout, new paint, and added a beer barn. It looks fantastic, and we are excited to show it off.”
