Valley Wide Cooperative Donates to Fairgrounds

Ontario, Oregon – Valley Wide Cooperative, Valley Agronomics with matching funds from Land O’ Lakes donated a total of $2,500 to the Malheur County Fairgrounds. The donation will be used to build a new dairy livestock barn on the fairgrounds that will promote the dairy heifer replacement program. Frank Ausman, who is foreman of the construction (from the Dairy of Ozz Inc.) said, “With state and county financial support dropping every year, it is left to us as a community to step in and save our local facilities.” When the project is complete the barn will have 14 stalls, and each stall will house 2 animals. Not only will the new construction give the fairgrounds a much needed dairy replacement program, but will help to beautify the fairgrounds for years to come.
