RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
A person in this position is responsible for delivering feed products and farm store items safely. A person in this position must adhere to all commercial motor vehicle rules and regulates and respect customer property at all times. Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
 

  • Responsible for proper care and maintenance of the delivery truck.
  • Record daily tickets on manifest summary report; Responsible for completing driver’s daily inspection reports.
  • Maintain purchase order records; responsible for purchase orders needed for repair work.
  • Establish and maintain efficient route book.
  • Deliver products sold by company to the customer location.
  • Pick up empty pallets at customer location; Clean up associated garbage at customer location.
  • Transfer product from store to store.
  • Maintain good communication with stores and other personal via phone and radio messaging.
  • Adhere strictly to the delivery price sheet provided by management.  Any deviation from route price sheet due to special circumstance will require management approval.
  • Acknowledge any discounts given and obtain management approval for any and all volume discounts.
  • Adhere to all commercial motor vehicle rules and regulations.
  • Respect customer property at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Class A CDL required; forklift experience.
  • Clean driving record with all applicable endorsements required.
  • Must have strong communication skills; ability to communicate in appropriate, professional manner with managers, supervisors, employees, customers, vendors and general public.
  • Must be able to make appropriate decisions and execute them according to policy.
  • Must maintain appropriate and expected levels of customer service throughout the store.
  • Must have ability to determine order of need and task priority based on level of importance.
  • Must have a manager focus in all interactions and exhibit strong critical thinking/ problem solving skills.
  • Must exhibit a professional and positive image.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • experience with fast-paced delivery experience preferred.
 
HOURS / DAYS / SCHEDULE
This is a full time, 40+ hours per week position, days of week will vary based on workload. Qualified applicants must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed, especially during times of high seasonal demand.
