The Accounts Payable Clerk provides administrative and accounting services to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial operations. This position is responsible for accurately maintaining the accounts payable and provides support in a manner that meets or exceeds customer expectations, maximizes departmental effectiveness and achieves the strategic goals of Valley Wide Cooperative. Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Verifies the inventory is received to the correct vendor
  • Codes invoices and expense reports with correct codes
  • Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Resolves discrepancies that arise with any invoices or payments with vendors
  • Matches all ACH invoices to the daily draft notices
  • Prints invoices from vendor websites and forwards to correct person for receiving
  • Assists accounting department with billing errors caused by inventory variances
  • Addresses concerns from other departments including purchasing, sales and vendors to reduce inefficiencies
  • Provides timely delivery of financial information to management
  • Organizes tasks and resources to complete work and meet deadlines according to established procedures
  • Various other AP and Inventory duties
  • High School Diploma or GED, required
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of inventory and accounting software programs
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving and process improvement skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 2+ years’ experience in accounting or finance, preferred
This is a full time, 40+ hours per week position, typically Monday - Friday. Qualified applicants must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed, especially during times of high seasonal demand.
