Stampede for the Cure and More
The Snake River Stampede, held every July in Nampa, Idaho, is a week long rodeo event that attracts top rodeo talent from across the country. Since its establishment in 1937, this PRCA-sanctioned rodeo has become an integral part of the Nampa community with its long-standing tradition and competitive, small town spirit.
Throughout the week, numerous events are organized to support community causes, and Valley Wide Cooperative was proud to sponsor several, including Pink on the Dirt and the Buckaroo Breakfast.
Pink on the Dirt
The Snake River Stampede Pink on the Dirt luncheon is an annual event dedicated to funding mammograms for women who are either uninsured or underinsured. Despite the well-known importance of mammograms in early breast cancer detection, Idaho ranks 49th in the nation for breast cancer screening. This program is committed to changing that. Since 2006, it has raised over a million dollars, with contributions increasing each year.
On July 17th, hundreds of women dressed in pink gathered at the Ford Idaho Center to raise money for the cause and participate in the auction. A group of Valley Wide employees attended, actively bidding and joining in the excitement. The event featured a live auction, raffles, and a steak salad lunch. However, the most impactful moments were the powerful stories shared by women whose lives had been directly touched and saved by this program.
Buckaroo Breakfast
On Monday and Tuesday of the week of the Snake River Stampede, Valley Wide Cooperative proudly provided the propane for the cooking fires at the Buckaroo Breakfast. The 4-H volunteers cooked and served pancakes, eggs and sausage while raising funds for the Canyon County 4-H Endowment Program. Hundreds of volunteers from Canyon County 4-H contributed thousands of hours to make this fundraiser successful, supporting scholarships and events for local youth. Our contribution helped ensure the event ran smoothly and continues to benefit the community.
Valley Wide employees were happy to attend and enjoy the delicious breakfast, and we are already looking forward to next year.
Snake River Stampede Rodeo
Along with supporting Pink on the Dirt and the Buckaroo Breakfast, Valley Wide Cooperative is proud to be an event sponsor for Saddle Bronc riding at the Snake River Stampede. Every year, we also support the Ford Idaho Center, ensuring that our sign is displayed along the top of the stadium.
This sponsorship allows us to show our commitment to the community and the events that bring us together. By participating in and supporting these events, we not only promote our services but also engage with and give back to the community that supports us. Our ongoing partnerships with these events reflect our dedication to fostering a sense of unity and celebrating local traditions.
